This is the second year in a row that Barbie has not
made the top ten, coincidentally AntiBarbie.Com has been online for
both of those same seasons. We thank all of the parents and
kids who actually understand what we are doing here at Anti-Barbie
and why we started this website. Not that Bratz is really much
better but at least the company behind Bratz has actively allowed
fan sites to exist rather than close them down and take the domain
names alienating the very hand that feeds them. There
are some very cool toys on this list, the Roboraptor is pretty darn
interesting but I doubt it's ability to hold a child's attention for
very long. The same goes for Tumble Time Tigger, very sweet
but kind of a one trick pony, and the Tyco Shell Shocker looks rather
silly to me, why not just throw a ball around. Furby, well as a
collector of the original ones I do find these new ones lack the
cuteness of their predecessors. I have seen kids play
for hours on their Tamagotchis and these generation two ones can be
paused so they are not the 24/7 deal of the first versions. I like
books for kids (I've seen the Chronicles of Narnia at Big W for $25)
but please include a toy as well or you could see that
disappointment in their eyes. My favourite is craft kits, art
supplies, basic Lego and play dough or plasticine, you are promoting
their imagination and they can be used again and again. Most
of all though, spend time playing with the children in your life and
have a truly wonderful holiday season.
Merry Christmas and a
Happy New Year to all! |
